Digestion Drop - The Angriest Chip

In this vertical-scrolling platformer, you play as a tiny chip out for revenge on the person who swallowed you!
As a submission to the Indie Games Academy Level 3 Game Jam, Digestion Drop was created in about 6 days by Cohort 6 Team Wildcard Rogues with the Unity engine.

This project was a practice prototype for our new team, Wildcard Rogues, to gain experience working together before an even bigger game later. We were given a basic platformer code to edit, build upon, and make our own. Upon learning more about each other, we discovered we all enjoy horror and puzzles, and that one team member works closely with children. As a result, the initial idea for the game was educational: showing in a fun way how food is digested and passed through the esophagus. Through development, we began to lean artistically and narratively even more towards body horror, resulting in a "delightfully disgusting" experience, and lots of assets I'm proud to have made. It was a fun & concise project that yielded me with more Unity experience, such as imputing/formatting my artwork directly into the engine, the importance of feedback and prototyping, and utilizing grayscale assets to optimize my art workflow.

With the first round of feedback from fellow members in the cohort, I made changes to the color palette to increase visibility and contrast, and changed the Chip color to steer away from the previous poop-like appearance.

The featured type faces are: Pixel Pirate by SparklyDest, Pixel Musketeer by Pixel Sagas, and Pixel Cowboy by Bruno Herfst
