Side Scrolling Platformer done in Unity.
Help delivery guy Steve triumph over the pizza prophecy that is Alverius the wizard & his perilous pepperoni portals. Alverius, a wizard school drop out, has put a spell on Steve for an evening of entertainment: Until Steve manages to reach the top of the wizard's home and deliver his accursed pizza, he is trapped in a loop between worlds.
Created in 10 days for the 2023 GameDev.tv Jam with the theme: Life in 2 Dimensions.
As the lead 2D artist, I created the player sprite and movement sprite sheets. I also designed the backgrounds for levels, clutter props, cover illustration, and assisted in the creation of a mood board along with the producer. I had fun brainstorming pizza-related assets, such as pizza pie-chart health bar, a triangular-pattern combining pizza slices and a wizard hat, and a cheesy pause menu. I learned several new things about Aseprite as a program while expediting my work timeline, such as the creation of custom brushes & patterns. While creating side scrolling tilesets for the first time, I thought about the contrast between the platforms and their backgrounds to ensure enough visibility.
