Clock Out at 2 Visual Novel

Our producer Mac Kendema took a photo of an office building in Japan. He had an idea for me to animate his photo glitching into my key art. Then I added our new title music by Dave McKee.

Key Art poster for submission to the Tokyo Indie Game Summit event. The feeling of being trapped reminded me of prison imagery. So I made the office building look like a prison door, and the misleading flowers look like hinges and bolts.

Lucida Character Design & Portraits- I was tasked with researching Bolivian culture, fashion, and shapes and combine it with a personality description to create a new co-worker for Celia.

Poster I was asked to make to promote our Localization Campaign efforts to translate our game to Japanese. I had the idea to place Celia's coworkers directly into her hair because people of color are often overly scrutinized for their hair.

I wanted to do something unique to announce our participation in the Expo, so I animated it glitching to the darker, negative version to suggest horror.

In-game assets of Celia's dog. I needed to draw two versions: 1) eager to play, before the player engages and 2) tired and worn out, after player engagement.

Upon clicking the dog the first time, a player is greeted with this full size illustration as a way to manage Celia's self care.

As a treat to the team that could also be possibly used for the game, I made this little animation loop of Celia hugging her dog.

Clock Out at 2 Visual Novel

In August '24 I joined the Melanated Game Kitchen co-op. They helped me join their Borderless Studios team to work on their ongoing visual novel 'Clock Out at 2'.

It features Celia, an Afro-Latina woman, who works in a predominately white workspace as she desperately struggles with her work-life balance while experiencing various microaggressions. So far, I've been tasked with making illustrations for marketing on social media, virtual events, and live festivals. I've also done a bit of 2D art for mini-games, such as Celia's dog. I've created pixel art icons for in-game desktops and the game's application on Steam. Most recently, I was tasked with researching Bolivian culture and combining it with a given personality brief to create a new character design for Celia's mysterious coworker.

This is an ongoing project, so I will continue to add more of my work to this page.
