This board was inspired by my own childhood love of science and biology. After some research into leaf cell structures, and cross-section diagrams of leaves, I tried to illustrate something fun that I’d enjoy seeing in an educational book. I tried to personify the different microscopic cell structures of a leaf, including epidermis, chloroplast, mesophyll, veins, and stoma. By giving the different structures their own personalities, and imagining them as little friends could be a fun way to aide in remembering them and their functions.
