I was curious if I could turn a 19th century boulevardier into a modern Japanese superhero! I redesigned the New Yorker’s mascot Eustace Tilley into a Sentai, complete with his monocle as a weapon to reveal & fight truth, and his symbol the golden butterfly. This project also gave me the opportunity to brainstorm what would lead the mascot to become Japanese-inspired. I was inspired by Power Rangers, both American and Japanese, along with vintage clothing.
